Serology Services
By producing our own high-quality reagents and rigorously controlling every assay, we can guarantee accurate results, timely reports, and minimal repeats. Results are issued within 48–72 hours of sample receipt. Data is available on-line in real time through ILIMS.
For mouse and rat serology, our principal testing method is the Multiplexed Fluorometric ImmunoAssayTM (MFIATM), while the indirect enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) and indirect fluorescent antibody (IFA) test remain the primary tools for screening gerbil, guinea pig, hamster, and rabbit serum samples.
The MFIATM is highly sensitive and easily automated, and the reactions are performed in similar fashion to ELISA or IFA testing. We are able to complete your assays efficiently while providing consistency from one submission to the next, while added MFIATM system and sample suitability controls ensure accurate results. Common pathogens are conveniently organized into profiles, allowing you to customize your testing program.
Confirmatory testing is performed free of charge for samples that have inconclusive or unexpected results via alternative techniques, including ELISA, IFA, hemagglutination inhibitition (HAI) test, and western blot.
Parvovirus Serology Testing
Our Mouse and Rat Parvovirus Panels, also performed via MFIATM, consist of multiple assays designed to detect and speciate parvoviruses in every sample tested. Utilizing serotype-specific and recombinant purified virus-like particles (VLPs) produced in an insect cell/baculovirus system, we have been able to increase the specificity and sensitivity of our assays.
For more information on MFIATM, including a description of the assay and validation data, and testing procedures, please view our MFIATM Summary Report and MFIATM Methods Manual.
